Avoiding Scripting Languages for SEO
If possible try to avoid scripting languages on your website for SEO purposes.
Although it may not be possible to remove all scripting languages from your website keeping it to a minimum is the key. ASP, .NET, PHP, Javascript, VBscript, Perl, ASPX and other such forms of scripting languages may make it difficult for search engines to index your site. We live in a day when more and more websites are becoming dynamic one of the most difficult challenges for search engine optimizers is to make websites search engine friendly.
In time this has become less of an important matter with regards to SEO simply because the search engines are adapting to being able to read .php, .asp, and other such files; however a general rule is that if you don't really need the script on the site and you can accomplish the same effect or goal with plain HTML to use CSS based HTML instead of a scripting language.

I guess I am confused with your statement. Properly coded server side programming will never be seen by any search engine, only the resulting html, css, etc will be so I am not sure why you believe that will provide lesser results. I can code the same page in 5 languages or just html and achieve the same results.
I will agree that client side coding should be kept to a minimum since the search engines must "read" this information to find the juicy bits of content.

Yes I understand your point of view. Server-side programming is not an issue however client-side programming or having a dynamic website when it is not necessary is not near as easy as optimizing one that is strictly HTML/CSS. Especially when the webpages/links have dynamic variables in them.
