Utah web design company MWI is launching a new site at MyWebDesignCompany.com and in an effort to get the site ranking in Google quickly they’re going to give away $500 to the owner of one of the incoming links to said site. In other words, you put a link to MyWebDesignCompany.com on your website, that link gets indexed by Google, MWI checks out the backlinks on September 10th, chooses one at random, and the owner gets a check for $500. The question is, how many incoming links are they going to get, and what will the quality of the links be?
I’m going to predict they’ll get somewhere between 50-100 indexed links, and 95% of them are going to be low quality. But certainly better than nothing.
Of course in the spirit of full disclosure I should mention that “they” is me, since I own MWI, TheOrganicSEO.com, and MyWebDesignCompany.com. Bwa ha ha. But still, let me know what you think of this tactic.

“MWI gets banned from Google for buying links”
A future headline I would love to read……
Just kidding, but that is kind of blatantly telling Matt C. what you’re doing. They never crack down on that kind of stuff though.
It’d be a right shame if that happened since the contest isn’t working out too well. Only one person other than myself has successfully gotten a link indexed so he’s making that $500 without even trying.
So…chalk that one up to experience and tell the kids to go spend their money at Text Link Ads.
