Directories for SEO

Here are some directories you can use to increase your SEO visibility.

1. DMOZ – Almost everyone knows about this directory. It used to be a lot more useful than it is now, but it is still great if you can get a listing. On average it takes about a year to get a listing now though. Here is a tip, when you browse to a category you are considering placing your website in look at the bottom of the page at the ‘last updated’ date. If that category has not been updated in the last 3 years most likely you will never get listed there, only submit to a category that has been updated within the last 2 months.

2. Prefound – This is a newer link directory that is easy to manage, membership is free and you can add your own links. This would be a good one to submit your websites to now while it is still in its infancy.

3. Zimbio – This is also a newer directory. It has many neat features such as links, forums, blogs, etc. Membership is free and you can add/edit/delete items at your hearts content as long as it is quality information. I also would suggest getting into this directory now while it is new.
