Google Adwords Certification Test

I took the Google Certification Test today, It was not as difficult as I had expected.

For those of you thinking about taking the Google Adwords Certification Test I would not stress too much about it. The test is $50 and if you fail you can take it again; you need 75% to pass. It was 104 questions and you have 1.5 hours to finish the test. They have a very comprehensive online study guide you can use before you take the test. Many of the questions are directly from the guide, although not all of them are. However I think almost all the questions were contained in the study guide, just not necessarily on the sample quizes.

If you are familiar with adwords you should pass the test without too much of a problem. The most difficult part for me was the billing section and international questions; so if you are not familiar with those you should study up on them. If anyone is thinking of taking the Adwords Test and you have questions about it let me know and I would be happy to let you know what the test is like.

    Avnish,

Man, I wish I could remember the questions but to be honest it has been almost a year since I took the test. Here is the best advice I can give though: if you are familiar with setting up a campaign and what not you should be fine. It is timed but you can open another browser and find the answers to the questions you need if you are quick at finding them, kind of like an ‘open book’ test.

The best thing you can do to prepare for the test is to go here: http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/
Although the questions are not the exact ones (although I swear some of them were duplicates) if you can pass all the questions in the learning center you will pass the real exam for sure.

    Good luck!

    Eric

As far as the Google adwords test is concerned it has been almost 2 years since I took it; however I do remember that many of the questions were the exact same as the ‘learning center’ sample questions, but some were not. If you go through the learning center questions and pass those with a breeze you will do absolutely fine on the actual test.

    Hi,

I find the Google Adwords exam, a bit foolish. There are a few question where are not mentioned in the test quiz.

Too many questions about administration and useless things which change anyway… but not enough questions about the stuff that really matters in Adwords… Optimization of campains, keyword performance, campain structure etc.

Or somebody out there could expalin to me, why the heck I should now the TVA of Ireland?

If you lern only from the offical test and adwords learning center, you may pass the Adwords exam, but the don’t explain the real Adwords tricks (of course not, Google want you to spend money, big time…)

ok, I wish everybody success for the exam.
And if you consider to take your exam in a other language than English, consider having English questions too. I think they don’t have enough translators working for Google…

Does someone EVER saw the results of their exam? They don’t show the right answer in case you got it wrong… no chance to improve…

    good look to you all.

Is there any adwords audio study guild that I can download to my iphone so I can study at work. I’ve looked in podcast and found nothing

@TK I know there are many AdWords tutorials on youtube, which you can listen to without needing to watch the videos. I actually passed the revised (more difficult) exam in January 2010, and I just created a useful Google Adwords Tips article on my blog. Please check it out and tell me what you think! http://www.trimarksolutions.com/inside/tips-tools/google-adwords-exam-tips-from-an-adwords-qualified-individual/

The new exam requires a pass of 85%. There are 120 questions and you get 2hrs to complete it. Anyone taking the exam should prepare carefully and remember that there are questions that might throw you – you have to think carefully even if you’ve studied the official material carefully.

Also, many questions have more than 1 correct answer, so you need to choose the best. Good luck everyone!

One of the benefits for SEO professionals to have the certification is the fact that you can get $100 coupons for your clients. This is a great incentive program, and I solute Google for their forward thinking.
