I got this recently while reviewing a site’s indexed pages. I established a new IP to continue working but I doubt I am quite as fast as a bot, very frustrating.

Even i get the that message many time that i am sending automatic queries after typing some manual searches in google. I used to delete cookies and than start the searching again. I am sure google will do something to sort it out.

This is really interesting, luckily I have never experienced it personally but now that I know it can happen even when you are manually searching keywords I will be more careful to click on a link once and a while. I guess even Google makes a mistake now and then.

Hey just a few days ago i got the same from google .I was just searching on google using google crome and suddenly i got that reply and it was lasted for almost 1 hour .even during the time frame when i was searching on ezinearticles.com .i got the same reply.just because they are using google custom search..

This happens at my office all the time. We have a few people that abuse the API. Anyhow they block the machines public IP. If you have multiple IP’s that you can rotate between this will fix the problem. If you cant rotate your machines public IP you can either wait it out or fill out this form, http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/request.py?contact_type=ban.

I also wonder if being logged into Google at the time would solve the problem. After all, it’s less likely for a bot to have a gmail address, I would think.

Yeah, I get the same thing. I figured out that if I actually click a link from the search results every once in a while, they no longer take me as a bot.
